Performance At The 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl Game
This past New Year's Eve, instead of spending all night at home waiting for 2008 to arrive, the MHS Band were waitng for half-time. As the saying goes "HALF-TIME IS GAME TIME," students and directors of our band particpated in a massive 700 piece ensemble to perform the pre-game and half-time show of the Auburn-Clemson Game. The Band first marched down Peachtree to represent Gwinnett County and the City of Atlanta in the Parade with thousands of "Tiger" fans. Then the Band performed the Star-Spangled Banner with Chick-fil-A President, Gary Stokan. The show consisted of selections from the Band "Chicago" and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." Our students were thrilled to perform before 75,000 screaming fans. Topping off the evening with the best conference in the nation (SEC) made history for our school and its band program even sweeter!
